well ugly people number 2 is almost finished, so it's time to start thinking about my next project. I'd like to do a comic about Lonewolf, a character who has been in both issues of Ugly People but has not gotten a ton of screen time. He is just a fun character to draw, with all that facial hair.
i did this drawing of him to see what he would look like if i used a brush and a nib for inking. i've started using the nib more often, but haven't had the chance to really use the brush. I was finishing up the Bacon on a Bounty story when i got it. I had already started that story with a micron, so i thought it best not to change tools half way through.
Aside from the inking another big change for this comic will be that i might write it before i draw it. The way i usually work is by coming up with a loose plot and theme, then i just thumbnail the story out on computer paper. so it is written and drawn at the same time. This time around i might write a more detailed plot before i do the thumbnails. I know for sure i'm going to type the dialog out on a computer, because as you can read i can't spell for shit.
i already started making notes for this story. It was a weird experience. I was just sitting at the computer thinking about what history the guy should have. I've never really done that. It seems silly to be taking something so humorous, and i mean my comics not comics in general, so serious. Coming up with a time-line for somebody? Strange. Although i feel like i've been building this little cast of characters so maybe it is not such a stupid idea to know everything about them?
